Milk Chocolate Candy
Milk chocolate is the most popular and widely eaten chocolate in the world. Most candy bars that are eaten, along with other chocolate treats are made with milk chocolate. This type of chocolate differs from other types of chocolate because it has a milk base, combined with sugar and cocoa butter. Cocoa butter is the base for all chocolate products, and this base combined with the milk and sugar, and proper beating, mixing and temperature when preparing create the enjoyable treat of milk chocolate.
The first steps of making milk chocolate are the milk is first cooked with sugar and then cocoa is added. When this process is complete it is evaporated and cooked to create the creaminess of milk chocolate. More cocoa butter is added in accordance with the chocolate recipe to be followed for a particular chocolate candy bar.
How chocolate is prepared is important for taste and aesthetic reasons. The primary ingredient in chocolate is fat. Cocoa butter, sugar and milk are all cooked together and create bonds between them. If the temperature while cooking is not accurate and chocolate is not cooked appropriately, the bonds between ingredients will not form properly. Chocolate does not appear smooth or appealing when all its ingredients are not cohesively formed while cooking. This heating process is called tempering.
Milk chocolate is found in chocolate candy bars, chocolate kisses, and any other type of solid chocolate. Milk chocolate is also used for covering other types of candy and is also made into pudding, ice cream, milk and as a drink, as in chocolate cocoa. Well known manufacturers of milk chocolate are Hershey, Nestle, and Cadbury. These chocolate companies were the first with factories that created chocolate in bars as opposed to drinking chocolate and confectionary chocolates in the form of cakes.
