5.Where did chocolate first come from?
Chocolate was the drink of royalty, the wealthy and of priests in ancient Central America. The ancient Mayan civilization first discovered chocolate and created a chocolate drink that included spices, cornmeal and Chile pices. Later, the Aztec people continued to grow cocoa trees, harvest the beans and even use it at tax payments from the people they conquered. When the Spanish invaded Central America, they took chocolate back with them, and soon it gained in popularity and spread across Europe.
