Chocolate Fudge
Chocolate fudge is a confection resulting from boiling sugar in milk and beating the boiled combination of milk and sugar while it cools off so that it becomes a creamy and smooth substance. There are many chocolate fudge recipes, including recipes for dark chocolate fudge, chocolate peanut butter fudge, chocolate fudge frosting and fudge can be made into chocolate fudge cake as well.
A great recipe for chocolate triple fudge is as follows:
1 cup butter
3 1/3 cup sugar
1 can evaporated milk
2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
2 squares chopped baking chocolate
2 medium sized broken up chocolate candy bars
30 marshmallows
2 cups of chopped pecans
1 teaspoon extract of vanilla
Over the heat of a conventional oven stir together sugar, butter, evaporated milk and dark brown sugar. Boil for approximately 5 minutes and stir constantly.
When stirred to completion introduce marshmallows and stir until melted.
Next, chocolate chips should be added and stirred in until melted, followed by chocolate bar pieces and baking chocolate. When melted stir in pecans and vanilla.
Pour into baking pan and chill until firm.
The origins of the first fudge are hard to determine. It is said that the first fudge was the result of a mistake at attempting to make caramel candy.
