Chocolate Cookies
Chocolate cookies are a snack that most people love to eat. Whether alone or with a big glass of milk, cookies made of chocolate are good for a snack after lunch, a midnight treat, a small bit of something to eat in between meals or a reward for hard work.
There are many different kinds of recipes that involve chocolate and cookies. Chocolate chip cookie recipes and Nestle Toll House chocolate chip cookie recipes are similar recipes but with some distinct differences. Traditional cookie recipes such as oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and exotic cookie recipes such as Italian almond chocolate honey and ricotta cookies make chocolate cookie baking a fun and satisfying way to be creative and to make snacks that are quite enjoyable.
Chocolate chip cookies were invented by a dietician named Ruth Wakefield. Ruth and her husband bought an inn and called it the Toll House Inn. Ruth had a reputation for making delicious desserts, and one day while trying to make a batch of cookies she came up short on ingredients and so she chopped up a semi sweet chocolate candy bar she had. Since the bar of chocolate wasn't specifically for cooking (bakers chocolate) it didn't melt right completely, and so the little chips of chocolate stayed in the cookie only partially melted. Coincidentally, the chocolate Ruth Wakefield used had been given to he by Andrew Nestle, the chocolatier. The recipe for the cookies Ruth invented was called Toll House Cookies.
Chocolate no bake cookies involve boiling contents together as opposed to baking them in the oven. A person wanting to make chocolate no bake cookies would combine all ingredients in a bowl, those ingredients being cocoa, salt, vanilla, milk and shortening. When the ingredients have been boiled for approximately 2 minutes it should be poured over uncooked oats (and whatever else one wants in combination with the oats). After mixing well spoonfuls of the mixture may be put on waxed paper and eaten.
